ECKELMANN AG develops and manufactures turnkey automation for metallurgical and steel works (foundries, cold rolling stands, hot rolling stands, profile rolling stands and strip handling installations) as well as machines and installations in the further processing of steel.
On the basis of years of experience in the area of technological closed-loop control systems in the fields of continuous casting, hot rolling, cold rolling and strip handling, together with renowned customers in the field of steel processing ECKELMANN developed the multiplatform-enabled automation system E·ProBAS, which optimally fulfils the high demands on technical complexity, robustness and speed in the steel processing industry. As a SIEMENS Solution Provider, ECKELMANN has gathered wide-ranging experience with
the SIMATIC S7 and the SIMATIC TDC automation systems. ECKELMANN is one of the first automation houses to use the new application module FM 458-1DP from Siemens AG in combination with a SIMATICS7-400 type PLC. With this configuration, for the first time ever ECKELMANN was able to highly dynamically realise roller gap control with a pure PLC platform and with very short sampling times.
All solutions can be ported to the PLC, industrial PC, VMEbus and Multibus II hardware platforms, which are common in the steel industry.
